Johnson, Arthur M. CARTHAGE - Services celebrating the life of Arthur M. Johnson, 84, of Carthage, will be 6 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Carthage, with the Rev. Earl Cantrell and the Rev. Paul Thomasson officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Redwater Cemetery, near Texarkana. Arrangements are by Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson died September 6, 2007, in Knoxville, Tenn., after a brief illness. Born February 22, 1923, in Redwater, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force, retired as president of Panola Junior College in 1982, after 32 years of service, and was an active and dedicated member of First United Methodist Church for many years. Survivors include his daughter, Nedra Johnson Cook; and brother, Spencer Johnson. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, at the church.
