Obituary for Eugene DeFee Hightower Born Texas, Date Unk. Buried November 4, 1943. Eugene DeFee Hightower Eugene DeFee Hightower, son of Mrs. Maggie Hightower and the late Sam Hightower of Texarkana, died Monday at Tulsa, Okla, where he had made his home for the last five years. Besides his Mother, he is survived by one daughter, Peggy of Houston, Texas, one son, DeFee Jr., of the United States Army, Danville, KY; three sisters, Mrs. G.J. Goodson of Tulsa, Okla.,Mrs. Anna Brougher of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Esta Gruenthal of New York, NY; one brother Nick Hightower of Longview, Texas; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, in the chapel of the Texarkana Funeral Home, with the Rev. G.C. Ivins officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jack Buffington, H.L. Everett Sr., Jessie Williams, Earnest Gibson, Heber Bowen, Cubby Bowen, (Obit Cut off here).
