MURDER! I was doing an oral history project for a university class when my grandmother, Josie Cross Heflin Megason (late of Daniels Chapel and New Boston) told me of a MULTIPLE MURDER which had occured about 1915. A man is supposed to have murdered his mother, father, crippled brother and a son, while he was in a drunken rage. She said he had one son who survived the MURDER-SPREE. The man was hung from the hanging tree in New Boston. I would like to substantiate this story before including it in my report, but there are no Bowie County newspapers extant from that time period. Can anyone give me more information on this murder case???? Any help would be appreciated.
