On December 30, 1903 James D. Steelman and Ella Beatrice Steelman sold 
one acre of their 29 1/2 acres in Malta for $20.00 to Citizens of Malta Community 
to be used as a public cemetery & no other purpose. 
Recorded Bowie County Volume 39 page 432. 
This is now the current site of the Malta Cemetery in which both are interred.
