The patrons of the Bright Star school district are erecting a new, modern school house on the Emory and Alba public road. The old school house was located a mile or so north of the road. H.S. Ellis, the contracting carpenter. (Rains County Leader, August 8, 1913)

Sell School Building
The Methodist people in the Bright Star community bought the Bright Star school
building and will use the same as a house of worship. The trustees and
patrons of the Bright Star school district have already gone to work on a new
modern 2-room school building, which will comply with the requirements of the
State educational department. This is a good piece of business for both
the Methodist people and the school interests in that community.
Dec 14, 1922 Trustees (D.S. Peoples, Noah Greer, S.H. Terry,
Ed Toles) sold above mentioned land to A.J. Robbins for $50 (Rains County Deed
Records, vol. 42/pg. 313)
