Ginger school was originally called Stone's Chapel
Ginger School was once called "Seedtick", located south of Emory;
it was also known as "Center Grove" and "Stone Chapel".
From intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy 19, travel Hwy 69S 3.1 miles, turn left
onto County Rd. #3230, and school was located on right 0.4 miles. Ginger annexed
To Emory School District 1938. (Rains County Leader Pioneer ed. 11 August
1939)
Ras Magee of the Stones Chapel neighborhood was in again Monday and informed
us that they had engaged Prof. Davis of Cookville to teach for them and that
school would begin again Monday. (Rains County Leader, Jan 17, 1913)
Ras Magee, one of the trustees of the Stones Chapel school, was in town Saturday
inquiring for a school teacher. Prof. H.D. Garrett has been teaching the school
but has accepted a clerkship in the senate at Austin, which leaves them without
a teacher. Prof. Spencer started to teach this school last week but on account
of his eyes he had to give it up. (Rains County Leader, Jan 24, 1913)
