Twenty-Fifth Wedding Anniversary
Judge and Mrs. C.J. Crabb celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday
night by entertaining their friends with a big supper. The dining room was artistically
decorated and wedding bells were suspended from the ceiling, which gave the
room a beautiful appearance but the good things to eat set before us by the
waiters, the charming daughters of the home, Mrs. B. Fitzgerald and Misses Lula
and Stella Crabb, is what took our eye and claimed our careful attention for
about – oh! Well, until we gave out. On each plate was placed two cards.
One was blank and the other contained two quotations, selected from various
authors, and each guest was required to write the name of the authors of their
verses. No one present succeeded in naming both authors, but six named one out
of the two and the cards bearing their names was placed in a hat and one drawn
out. Mr. J.W. McElroy’s name was drawn, and he was awarded the prize.
Mrs. Nell Potts was awarded the “booby” prize. She named Happy Hooligan
and Billikin as the authors of the two verses on her card. Mrs. Crabb received
many beautiful presents, and congratulations and well wishes for many returns
of the anniversary were showered upon the host and hostess by the guests. Those
