Vinson of Marion Co., Ga.; Served in Captain W. S. Parrott's 40th Regiment
of Mississippi Volunteers, later known as Company H. Young Marion captured
by the Union troops in the battle of Vicksburg, paroled July 7, 1963
and captured again on Dec. 16, 1864 near Nashville, Tennesse during
the seige of that city under Gen. John B. Hood. Transferred to the
Poing Lookout, Maryland Union Prison and released June 5, 1865. In
1874 shown as active members of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church
of Upshur Co. and he and his wife were charter members of the Little
